last summer john (my husband, for those of you new to my blog) and i decided we wanted a fence to coral keep jack from running towards the street. we commissioned my very handy brother-in-law, “dude” as jack calls him, or jeremy as the rest of us call him to help john with the labor. my sister katie thought up the idea of a swapping jeremy’s skills for mine. this session completes our contract! i can’t believe this sweet little girl is going to be one in two days! (the wheels are now turning as to what we need done to our house for janie’s next session! 😉 )

here is janie in katie’s belly, newborn janie, 3 months, 6 months, and 9 months!

here she is at 1 year!

i was excited when erika contacted me last spring about doing an extended family shoot with her in-laws, 14 people in all. i have photographed erika’s immediate family a few times before and they are probably the nicest people you can find! saturday was finally the day of the shoot and as i was driving to the state park in monroe the sun was no where to be found. i checked weather.com about 5 times that morning on my i-phone and it assured me the rain would hold off until after noon. well of course, about 20 minutes into our 9am session the rain started so we had to book it to the gazebo. i did not want to make 14 people all meet again another day so we plugged along under the gazebo for a while and even found (thanks erika!) an awesome opening under a huge tree that sheltered us from the rain but worked great for photos. everybody was so wonderful to work with and erika did such a great job organizing the shoot!
