Pazy's Portraits » modern photography for seniors, babies, kids, and families

that was her nickname as a little girl. i can’t believe my little sister, that i use to persuade to put on dances and talent shows with me, is now going to be a mom next month. well, hopefully next month, us jones girls have a tendency of going late.

i had the idea of doing her maternity portraits while were up north over the 4th, because it is her husband’s favorite place to be, and i knew the scenery would be gorgeous. i wasn’t disappointed. see for yourself…

i went with a lighter, more airy touch while editing the next few.

the scenery isn’t the only thing that is gorgeous. check out katie (sorry jeremy, you’re pretty too!).

PINIMAGE

i also got to experiment with sunflare for the first time. (family is good for that kind of stuff!)

and we had to talk my sister-in-law, julie into a few comparison shots. julie, is also due next month. i am going to be in newborn heaven before long.

well, another wednesday is almost gone and this post almost didn’t make it! i have been so busy. i have shot 5 portraits sessions and a wedding in the last week. luckily, i am leaving tomorrow to head up north with the fam for some much needed R and R. all of my portrait sessions’ sneak peaks are up and i ask that everybody holds tight and i will have your galleries to you next week. i will not have access to my email and will respond to those sunday night.

i am, of course, bringing my camera to snap a few maternity photos of my sister and of course take some photos of jack on his second trip to papa’s cabin. i also have a new macro lens to play with. woot!

and just because i hate to post without a photo. here is one from my first wedding.

i had the pleasure of hanging out with some adorable kids this morning and their lovely mother.

these are my favorite kind of photos, because they are real. i don’t expect kids to be perfectly posed in photos, that’s not kids, and that’s probably not how you will remember your kids.

these first three photos tell a story of what happens when you hug too tight.

PINIMAGE

and then you start to lose your balance…

PINIMAGE

and before you know it your legs are up in the air and the photographer can’t see your faces and your undies are showing.

PINIMAGE

and the next story is of three kids who adore their mother, even though they may not always act like it. and a mother who adores her three kids and now it is all caught on camera.

PINIMAGE

PINIMAGE

and the last story is of three year old “twinkies” (as their grandpa calls them) who will grow up together, look out for each other, and be each others best friends (even thought they may not always admit it).

PINIMAGE

thanks “m” family, for allowing me to capture your story!

  • Courtney - Awe, these are so sweet! The first three are awesome! Great job, once again, Pazy!ReplyCancel

  • Heather - Beautiful work!ReplyCancel

  • Jill - So cute!!! i love these! Cute kids and great pics 🙂ReplyCancel

i hung out with tyler last night, a senior at airport high school in carleton. he plays varsity football, basketball, and baseball. so of course, we incorporated that into some (ok, maybe many!) of his photos.

first we got the formal stuff out of the way.

PINIMAGE

and then we got had a little fun.

PINIMAGE

PINIMAGE

last we went out to his backyard.

stay tuned for more of tyler done on the ball fields!

i always love it when people ask my advice on coordinating outfits for their portraits. i love bright colors on kids (and sometimes on adults too). clothing can completely make or break a portrait. beautiful white dresses on little girls can give the photos a soft, sweet feel. put them in bright outfits and the photo is all of a sudden more fun and lively. you have to think about what you want the end result to be and go from there.

this next family cheated a little bit, because i told them exactly what i envisioned their family wearing to create a perfect family portrait. i think it worked out to a t.

this next one is my favorite, because this is exactly how sophia is…

PINIMAGE

i love all the feet lined up next to each other!

PINIMAGE

and now the three oldest individually (sophia turns one next month and will have her own photoshoot).
